Syntax Library

In the spirit of lightening each other's loads as institutional researchers and planners, members of the RP Group continue to contribute a variety of supportive resources such as planning models, communications tips, management strategies, useful websites, and operational definitions.

The Syntax Library continues this collaborative tradition by creating a central space to house various codes (e.g. SPSS, SAS) that execute common functions and reports. If you would like to share syntax that you have developed, please post it to this forum. Bear in mind that there are multiple ways of performing the same function and the posts below represent only a few of those approaches. If you review any code here and know of an alternative or easier method, please post your thoughts and/or code to the forum so that we may all learn from one another.

When posting code, kindly include the following (within reason):
1. Main function and/or description of the code.
2. Comments within the code which identify what each section of code is doing. These comments can assist in building the logic that could be used across programs even if the code is different.
3. Any considerations, conditions, or caveats when using the code especially if there are elements that are unique to your college/district.
